Institutions receive donations of chocolate
Easter arrived early for the girls and boys who live near the Nissan plant in Resende. From March 27 through March 29, the Volunteers of Value, from the Nissan Institute, celebrated Easter by distributing approximately 800 gifts of chocolate Easter eggs to children in various institutions.
Ana Correa, part of Nissan’s logistics team, was one of the volunteers who delivered Easter chocolate at the Maria das Dores de Almeida Duarte Municipal Nursery School (Dona Lili Daycare), in Resende, and shared a little of her experience. “It was marvelous to visit the daycare and play with the children. They were all very receptive. Seeing them so happy made me feel happy too. I can’t wait for the next chance to volunteer,” Ana stated.
This Easter project was planned by the Resende Volunteer Committee. The team also selected the institutions to visit.
According to Rosane Santos, manager of Social Responsibility and Sustainability, “Projects like these highlight Nissan’s commitment to community involvement. Our volunteers’ dedication only proves that we are on the right track. Being able to interact directly with the people we are helping, and bring them some cheer is the best present we could ever hope for!”
The action benefited approximately 800 children and teens from the following institutions:
