Volunteers collect chocolates and oral health kits to donate to children
In recent weeks, volunteers from the Nissan Institute supported an initiative that made many people’s Easter happier. Around 130 children in the neighborhood of Mangueira, in Rio de Janeiro’s North Zone, received special donations, collected at Nissan’s main office.
Over the course of two weeks, Volunteers of Value collected 59 boxes of chocolates and four boxes of chocolate wafer cookies for the community, while dental insurance company Dental Uni donated 143 oral health kits.
The items were handed over through a partnership with the “We are the street” project, which organized kits for the children and coordinated an event featuring many games.
“This Easter campaign was my first involvement with the volunteering program. The efforts we made were very small compared with the children’s smiles and happiness. It’s very gratifying to be able to take part in initiatives like this. I can’t wait for the next one.” (Luana Silva, Volunteer of Value)
