Institution: Gol de Letra Foundation
Location: Rio de Janeiro
This project seeks to promote the personal education of young people and adults living in the neighborhood of Caju, in Rio de Janeiro’s port area, focusing on promoting their quality of life.
It will offer eight courses, to train administrative assistants, computer operators, port logistics assistants, production line workers, low-voltage electrical installers, painters, body shop workers, and auto electricians.
All preparations to join the job market are tracked by a social service team and educational tutor, who will work together with young participants and their families to promote citizenship in terms of social and economic rights, aiming to break the cycle of poverty, unemployment or underemployment, lack of technical training, and poor schooling in Caju.
