Students complete educational courses created by Nissan
August 17, 2017 was a memorable day for students on the “Youth and Opportunity” project’s Auto Painting and Body Shop courses. After months of classes, they received their course completion certificate from the hands of representatives of the organizations that have been investing in youth in Caju: the Nissan Institute, NGO Fundação Gol de Letra, the Rio de Janeiro State Federation of Industry, and training institute Senai.
Among other people, the ceremony was attended by students’ families and two Nissan Institute board members, François Dossa and Bernardo Ortigão.
The students were congratulated by everyone and they made some short speeches and gave thanks. Before the certificates were handed out, a short video summarizing the course’s history was shown.
“I found out about this course on the internet, I applied and I was selected. I’ve learned a lot here. Despite my age, I still didn’t know what profession to follow, but now I’m ready to enter the market and I will try to balance this with my studies. In my opinion, there ought to be more groups so that more people can do them.” (Geraldo Leandro Gomes Filho, 25, Auto Painting course graduate)
“The course was great, I learned a lot, and the teachers, infrastructure and materials were all impeccable. As well as acquiring knowledge, I met new people, I really liked my classmates, and we turned into a team, which was rewarding. I intend to do more specialist courses to get ready for the job market.” (Bruno Jean da Silva Conceição, 28, Body Shop course graduate)
