Dozens of social institutions enjoy Olympic experience
The Rio 2016 Olympic Games were unforgettable for the whole country, and even more for 12 social institutions in Rio de Janeiro that the Nissan Institute took to watch the world’s largest sports event close-up.
Through Nissan’s partnership with the Rio 2016 Games Organizing Committee, more than 2,500 children and youth involved in NGOs supported by this initiative enjoyed an Olympic experience, involving plenty of resilience, determination, courage and love for sport. They went to see sports such as basketball, canoe slalom, soccer and rugby, among others.
Students at the Miratus Badminton Association also got the special opportunity to watch the sport they love and cheer on Ygor Coelho, an athlete on Team Nissan who was discovered by Miratus. (See more here ).
The Games have ended, but everyone will keep their memories of this experience.
“Today was a very good, different day for me. I was happy to see many people from everywhere. It was very moving for me, I really liked it”. (Patrícia – Saúde Criança ONG)
“It was a unique experience. I’d never been to a soccer match before. I felt honored to be part of such an important event for Brazil and to get a close look at some women’s soccer teams, representing us women”.
