March 28, 2019
Program is aimed at contributing to NGOs’ professional development

The Nissan Institute has opened applications for non-governmental organizations and other institutions to participate in its new program to support their professional development, called High-Value Mentoring. The program is designed to share experiences and boost the development of social and nonprofit organizations through structured mentoring and training provided by Nissan do Brasil employee volunteers.

The initiative will provide an opportunity for professional development to institutions’ managers. The mentoring will cover the following areas: People Management, Legal, Communication, Marketing and Social Networks, Financial Planning, Fundraising, and Planning and Management.

“High-Value Mentoring aims to expand the reach of our volunteering program. The main goal of the initiative is to get technical, structured knowledge to arrive at the front line. We noticed that many practices that are adopted at large organizations like Nissan can contribute to NGOs’ management, improving their results and impacts,” said Rosane Santos, the Nissan Institute’s president and the senior sustainability manager of Nissan do Brasil.

The first edition of the High-Value Mentoring program will take place in the city of São Paulo. The course will run for six weeks, involving a single five-hour in-person class per week. It is free to enroll and participate in the program.

Candidate organizations will be evaluated by a committee composed of representatives of the Nissan Institute, Nissan Brasil and Lamparina Comunicação e Responsabilidade Socioambiental, the institute’s consulting firm partner in this program. In all, five NGOs or other organizations will be chosen in a public contest, and up to two representatives of each one will be selected. The mentoring will begin in May.

To take part in the program, organizations should apply on the Volunteers of Value website by April 12, 2019. he results will be announced on April 24, 2019 on the same website. If you have any questions or would like more information, please email projetos@institutonissan.org.br
